GIVE ME A SIGN

15 year old Tyrese from Birmingham has partnered up with Sense Sign School to release free sign language lessons for everyone to watch and take part in. Tyrese lives with Charge Syndrome and has been using sign language as a way to communicate his whole life, and is now sharing his language with others, because “when more people learn to sign, it will help the deaf community feel part of a wider society.” Read the full story here

MORE THAN WEEDS

Pavements around the UK and France got a little brighter this week as Botanists took to the ground armed with chalk… to write and shine a spotlight on the names of wildflowers and plants! Have you spotted any? Take a look here

FOLLOWING FOOTSTEPS

Captain Tom Moore stole everyone’s hearts a few weeks back, especially nine year old Ethan’s. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Ethan is a non-walker. However, with the help of a walking aid and lots of determination he tackled 100 laps of a 25m track and raised over £50,000 for the NHS. Incredible! Read the full story here

HEROES AT THE MUSEUM

To celebrate Museum Week, museums from around the world shouted out their frontline workers, who are doing everything they can to keep all our valuables in pristine condition. Read the celebrations here

 

BANKSY STRIKES AGAIN

The corridors of Southampton General Hospital are a little bit brighter thanks to a brand new Banksy. As a thanks to all the frontline workers, the artist managed to sneak in (safely of course) and paint a picture of a young child flying a nurse figure in all her superhero glory. THESE SHOES WERE MADE FOR WALKING

Literally. Nike designed a special athletic shoe for healthcare workers that will withstand and stay comfy for 12-hour shifts. But not only did they design them, they went on to donate over 30,000 shoes to hospitals in the US and across Europe! Check the full story here
