Good News: From Virtual Prom To Mountain Love
We’re back again with a lovely little roundup of all the good going on in the world right now. Get ready to smile...
From the mountaintop
Over the last month, The Matterhorn in Switzerland (yes, it’s the Toblerone mountain) has been lit up by light artist Gerry Hofstetter. He’s been projecting the different national flags of countries hit hardest by coronavirus, to give people a sign of hope and solidarity during these times. Check out the Matterhorns official Insta for all the beautiful pics.
Man’s best friend
We already love our four legged furry pals, but now there’s a reason to love them even more. The Medical Detection Dogs charity is working hard to explore the potential of using dogs to reliably detect coronavirus in people. Now that’s a good boy! Read the full story here.
Giving corona the kick
Italian football club Pescara Calcio 1936 ran a competition for young Italians, bored of being at home during lockdown. They could design a new football shirt for the team. Six year old Luigi D’Agostino won, and his rainbow dolphin design will be worn by the team. Gooooaaaalllll! See the design and read the story here.
The Good News Prom
Four weeks ago, everyone’s favourite Office worker, Jim Halpert...errr, John Krasinski, started a YouTube channel called Some Good News (nice!) where he rounds up all the great things going on in the world, and surprises amazing people (watch a young girls’ broadway dream come true here).
This week, he took it one step further and held a virtual prom for everyone missing theirs...and he even called up Billie Eilish, The Jonas Brothers and Chance The Rapper to join in. Amazing! Watch the Prom here.
