Ten Ways To Say Thank You

On Sunday 4 July, it’s Thank You Day, where the country is coming together to say thank you to everyone who helped us get through the pandemic over the last year - from family members to key workers, good neighbours to volunteers. Here are ten different ways that you can say thank you to the people in your community…
Hold a BB-Thank-Q
We’re teaming up with the Scouts, Levi Roots and everyone around the country to throw the biggest barbecue ever on Thank You Day! Check out our blog on how you can host your own and be part of the celebration, and get some recipe inspiration from Levi himself.
Bake it up
Everyone loves baked goods! So whether you make them yourself or get shop bought ones, they make a great thank you gesture. Vegan, gluten-free, sweet, savoury, big or small, no matter what you make it’s the thought that counts and the gesture that says it all.
Give back
Acts of service are a love language for a reason - they show you care, help ease the pressure off someone else, and are a great way to put your appreciation to good use. Maybe you could help clean the house for your family, tidy up your grandparent’s garden, do some food shopping for a vulnerable neighbour, or help your siblings with their homework. Spread the tasks and spread the thanks!
Shout it out loud
Know someone who deserves some thanks? Want everyone to know just how amazing they are in your life and for the people they love? Put it all over social! Shout them out, dedicate a post to all the things you love about them and why you think they’re the bees knees. And don’t forget to use the hashtags #ThankYouDay for the chance to get featured!
Make a gift bag
Why not put together a unique, homemade gift bag or care package for someone you want to thank. Load it up with their favorite things - from sweets to stationery, biscuits to bath bombs...anything that will make them feel good. This is a nice little heartfelt way to show your appreciation. And you don’t even have to buy anything. Are you good at making things? Why not put together a box of your creations especially for them!
Send some snail mail
Most of our lives are online these days, but it’s always such a nice feeling to receive something in person, in the post. So why not take it old school and send some good old fashioned snail mail to someone! Write a letter, design a card, find a postcard that reminds you of them and give your thanks sincerely and honestly by putting pen to paper.
Be bloomin’ lovely
Know someone who loves flowers? Send them a bouquet! Whether it’s fresh flowers or artificial, assembling a bunch with a thank you note is an excellent way to brighten someone’s day and show you appreciate them. You could even try your hand at making origami flowers, draw or paint their favourite blooms or dry some petals.
Pay it forward
Is the person you want to say thank you to, passionate about a special cause or issue? Why not make a donation in their name, volunteer some of your time to the cause, or share it all over socials. This will mean a lot to them and show that not only do you care about them, but you care about their passions too!
Share your skills
Maybe someone recently helped you with a school assignment, set up an online shop, gave you some advice or helped boost your confidence. Why don’t you return the favour and say thank you by giving the gift of knowledge! What are you an expert on? What can you teach someone? How can you broaden someone's horizons and perspectives?
Just be there
Sometimes, the best way to say thank you, is just by being there for a special person in your life. You don’t always need to give something physical or do a grand gesture. Sometimes just offering time, an ear, or a safe space is the best way you can show someone you love them and you’re thankful for them.
