The Closet

 

Refracted, broken light

Seeps through the gaps

And our fingers lock like chains

Too armoured to be vulnerable

 

Of course, it was unnatural

The act of pretending

Creating ourselves as strangers

But still instinctive

 

I know now.

It was only temporary
