Been There, Slayed That is a weekly series where young people share a review of their NCS experience. This week we’re hearing from Charlotte!

1. Why did you decide to go on NCS?
I really enjoy camping and meeting new people, so this was the perfect opportunity to do that. I love learning fun skills and taking part in different experiences.

2. What did you most enjoy?
Definitely the talent show! I ended up doing my baton twirling with a stick because I lost a bet with my leader Ricco but I ended up really enjoying it.

Four young women are taking a selfie. Charlotte is in the background wearing a backwards cap and two others are doing peace signs with their hands.

3. What did you find challenging?
I found the little memory games challenging as I don't pay attention to the little things but once I stopped overthinking it, it was really easy to understand.

4. If you could do it all again, what's one thing you'd do differently?
I'd probably talk to more people as I mainly just spoke to people from my team and my original mates but other than that I'd do it all the same.

5. What memory from your NCS experience will stay with you for life?
The friends I've made as we all still speak all the time and the photo competition, as that brought my team closer together. It was a really fun experience.

Charlotte is taking a selfie on the BeReal app. She's at the front wearing a cap and holding four fingers up to the camera, and her friends next to her are also doing peace signs with their hands.

6. If you had to sum up your NCS experience in three words, what would they be?
Best trip ever.

Charlotte, any final thoughts?
Lesley and Ricco were the best leaders, you can't change my mind.
Team 4 🔛🔝
