Been There, Slayed That is a weekly series where people give the lowdown on their NCS experience. This week we’re hearing from Taz! #MyNCS23
–––––––––
1. Why did you decide to go on NCS?
I wanted to experience something new, get myself out of my comfort zone, and make new friends and memories.

2. What did you most enjoy?
I enjoyed meeting new people. I met some amazing people at NCS and still speak to them to this day. It’s amazing how close everyone became in the space of one week.

3. What did you find challenging?
I came to NCS alone, so I was scared that I’d have no one to speak to for the full week. However, I managed to get myself out there and become more confident — enough to make some new friends which worked out perfectly.

4. If you could do it all again, what's one thing you'd do differently?
One thing I would do differently is definitely bring a spare pair of shoes. On the last night, my shoes were completely drenched and I had to walk around in my socks!

My friend Noor refused to let me walk around barefoot, and I didn’t want her to walk around barefoot, so we negotiated to wear one shoe each since we were both the same size.

Taz and her friends won some awards and they are: Loudest (Taz), Best team player (Fin), Funniest (Noor)

5. What memory from your NCS experience will stay with you for life?
The Bonfire night, definitely. Everyone received their awards and it made me so proud of my friends seeing what they had managed to accomplish and seeing how much more confident we had become compared to day one.

6. If you had to sum up your NCS experience in three words, what would they be?
Memorable, challenging, opportunity.

Taz, any final thoughts?
I think anyone who has the opportunity to go on NCS should definitely do it, no matter how nerve-wracking it may seem. It’ll definitely be something you can never forget.
