JUST CALL US VAX-A-MILLION
Vaccinations are taking place all over the country and a milestone was reached recently, with 20million people having received their first dose - that’s a lot of your grandparents, family members, friends and those working on the front line! And the path to everyone else getting their vaccines isn’t far behind it either. Things are looking up, lockdowns are looking to ease, and life is on its way back to some sort of normal. Hooray! IT’S TIME FOR BEAVER FEVER
400 years after they were hunted to extinction in Britain, this year will see beavers being reintroduced to five counties across the country. It is hoped the beavers’ activities will restore valuable wetland habitats which have been missing since the beavers were lost, which will help boost biodiversity and reduce flood risks. Another Slam Dunk For Jordan
Michael Jordan might be one of the most famous basketball players in the history of basketball, but he’s also an incredible philanthropist. In February, Michael donated $10 million to build two health clinics for the uninsured and underinsured people of his home town in North Carolina. In 2019, he also donated money to two Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinics in Charlotte, North Carolina. The clinics have seen 4,500 patients and administered 1,000 COVID-19 vaccines. The new clinics he just donated $10 million to are scheduled to open in 2022.
A Slice Goes A Long Way
Everyone loves pizza. It’s a scientific fact*. And in January, an anonymous group of students decided to share the love by sending the front line workers at Royal Stoke University Hospital a pizza delivery as a thankyou for their tireless effort during the pandemic. The nurse who had been in charge on the day shift when the pizzas arrived shed a few tears, saying she had barely eaten all day and was a little emotional. Read more about it here.

CELEBRATIONS IN SWITZERLAND
Amazing news for the people of Switzerland, whose government has taken a big step towards LGBTQ+ equality and rights. At the very end of 2020, they approved a bill legalising same sex marriage, allowing transgender people to change their gender legally, and also granting lesbian couples the ability to use sperm banks.
