Every young person here has proven themselves an awesome NCS ambassador, and we can’t wait to see what they will achieve this year as our Youth Voice Leaders. Here’s a bit more about them and their reasons for continuing their journey with us.
NCS was an eye-opening experience for Aislinn and her outlook on the future has completely changed since. It’s given her the confidence to believe in her ability and push herself further. She wants to help her region as much as she can now she’s a Leader for Northern Ireland.
Isabel’s NCS experience allowed her to make a positive and long-lasting impact on her community. She was hooked and needed to continue making a difference. As a Leader she wants to challenge the way young people are represented in the media whilst encouraging them to work effectively towards positive goals.
João had made unforgettable friends and memories during his NCS journey and wanted to give something back. He wants to communicate his passion as a Leader to release the potential in others.
Amy said NCS encouraged her to get support for her mental illness, grow as a person and discover her capabilities. Whilst on the Regional Youth board, her team came up with the motto "we're not here to change the world, we're here to change someone's world." And as an NCS leader, she’s determined to make an impact by exercising that motto through her role.
Victoria joined her Regional Youth Board because she’d found the NCS experience really rewarding. She was inspired to help others and do more of what makes her happy. She believes in the importance of the youth voice and plans to support and inspire the next gen of NCSers as a Leader.
After an amazing NCS experience, song-and-dance-loving Londoner Grace applied for the Regional Youth Board when her wave manager suggested it. As a Leader she remains passionate about equality and climate change, and can’t wait to develop more sustainable social action projects across the country.
Carole-Anne is stepping up after her NCS experience to become a leader. She’ll now be helping inspire young people to make impactful change in the community.
Becoming a confident public speaker after NCS encouraged Daisy to join her RYB in Bedford to help NCS evolve into the future. Now as a Leader she wants to make a difference in young people’s lives by ensuring that as many people as possible have a positive experience on NCS.
NCS gave Katie the opportunity to improve her confidence and learn vital life skills, so she joined the Regional Youth Board to take her journey further and engage more directly with social action. She believes it’s important that young people feel they have the power to change things for the better.
Already a professional photographer and gymnastics coach in Leicester, Shyam says NCS helped him to develop on a personal level. Now he wants to encourage mental health awareness by removing the stigma and improving the support surrounding it.
Since having a life-changing experience on NCS, Zoë went on to build flower beds with her Regional Youth Board and is now continuing her journey as a Leader. Throughout the next year she wants to advocate for the power of young people and become a role model for future generations.
NCS allowed Joey’s self-confidence and self-esteem to soar and made him believe he could do anything. After staying involved via his Regional Youth Board, he now feels ready to create a passionate group in his region as a Leader.
NCS gave Alex the confidence to become a Leader for other young people, and now he’s taking part in this year’s International Think Tank Conference in Sweden. As a Leader he’d like to make NCS more accessible to those with social disabilities in the North East.
Even though she had a fantastic time on her NCS programme, Mabel felt like she could have done more. The Regional Youth Board allowed her to do that, and now as a Leader she can’t wait to help her regional youth boards get the best out of the next year.
Hannah completed NCS in 2018 and is now joining fellow grads in a new leadership role. As a leader, she’ll be helping to inspire and support the next generation of young people and looks forward to making a positive difference to the community.
NCS increased Jai’s confidence, not only in speaking and getting to know people, but also in her ability to realise goals. She’s looking forward to creating an impact as a Leader and helping to change young people’s lives.
Isla knows from experience the huge impact NCS can have on a young person’s character. As a Leader, she now wants to help others have an equally rewarding journey and in particular, seeks to empower them to have a positive influence in their communities
