Hi guys! So, Season Two is coming out really soon. What are you most excited about?
“Addressing current events from the past year, and hearing different people's takes on them!” - Rana, Medical Student
“I'm most excited about our topics and how people are going to respond to them. I think we've chosen subjects with lots of avenues for deep rooted conversations.” - Runoh, First Year college Student
“What most excites me for Season Two is constructing interview questions to really dig into the minds of some of our amazing prospective guests.” - Haleem, Actor and Voice Over Artist
“I'm really excited to start coming up with ideas and talking to everyone I worked with on Season One again - I loved how we all came up with ideas that meant something to us and then created it into a reality. I feel like I'm also a very different person to who I was in Season One, so I hope my newfound confidence will help in this season.” - Stephanie, Filmmaking and Communications Student
“I’m most excited about the interviews and potential interviewees we could have! And the discussions we'll have about their main topics. I think listeners will learn something new that they didn’t know before” - Dan, Second Year College Student
Some of you worked on Season One of Youth Rising too. What was the best part?
“My favourite thing about Season One was getting to go down to London to be interviewed. I got to talk with other non-binary people and I felt accepted and connected to the community.” - Paige, TV, Film and Theatre Student
“I was a reporter for Season One. This was a brilliant experience because I was fortunate to meet a varied range of people from different walks of life and explore big topics in the world, such as fast fashion or veganism. I really enjoyed the veganism episode as I helped present in the studio and got to try different foods blind folded!” - Pubudika, Medical Student
“In Season One, I was an editor and then towards the end I was a reporter. My favourite episode was Homelessness During a Pandemic. I got to conduct an interview with Katherine from Bloody Box Project and it was an amazing opportunity for my first interview.” - Sofie, Filmmaking Student
“During Season One I was an assistant editor and edited the interviews that you hear in each episode! My favourite episode was about Loneliness, as it was a topic that impacted me at the time and still does to this day. ” - Samuel, Film, Television and Digital Production Student
“My favourite thing about Season One was how much I felt I grew in confidence from the start until the end. I found that I spoke up more in meetings and even had a go at reporting! I also loved our in person boot camp as it was so lovely to meet everyone in person from so many different areas of the country.” - Lottie, Politics and International Studies Student
And finally, why do you think people should listen to Youth Rising?
“People should listen to Youth Rising because they are likely to connect and empathise with it.” - Paige
“I think that this podcast gets every type of opinion and view on a topic as we have a diverse range of input, so listeners’ experiences and own opinions will be seen.” - Rana
“We have a lot of important things to say to the young people out there. There are conversations that we need to have!” - Runoh
“As young people we’re always fighting to get a say, so now there’s a platform where we’re getting this say, we need to support it!” - Lottie
Keep your eyes - and ears - peeled for Season Two, coming next week!
