A group of ten young adults posing outdoors in front of white tents, dressed casually, some in hoodies, and making peace signs. They appear to be enjoying themselves at a campsite. The image has a colorful background with shades of pink, orange, and yellow, featuring a large text overlay that reads "BEEN THERE SLAYED THAT" in bold, playful font. The name "NOOR" is displayed at the top of the image, and there is a graphic of a thumbs-up icon in the lower right corner.

Five days. Four nights. Seven little questions. Been There, Slayed That is a weekly series where people give the lowdown on their NCS away from home experience. This week we’re hearing from Noor!
–––––––––

1. What motivated you to take part in your NCS experience?
I wanted something fun to do in the summer holidays after my GCSEs and I love the outdoors a lot so NCS was a good choice.

2. Give us a flavour of what you did during your NCS experience
Honestly, some of the activities were a little bit intense for me (like climbing the huge ladder) because I'm not the most athletic person but we did easier things like mental health workshops, raft building, lighting a fire, making a den, axe throwing and more.

Thee people roasting marshmallows and chocolate digestive biscuits to make smores over a man-made outdoor fire.

3. What did you enjoy most?
Getting closer to my tentmates and my group because we weren't close at all in the first few days but on the last day, for some reason we bonded.

4. What was your greatest achievement while on your NCS experience?
Meeting the team leaders and creating a nice bond with them (shoutout to Fatima and Rab).

5. Did you learn anything new or helpful from taking part in this experience?
I learnt that not everyone will have the same beliefs and personalities as you. As friendly as we were to each other, we were different from each other and that was new since I came from an environment where everyone wanted to be like each other/were just like each other.

6. What memory from NCS will stay with you for life?
When my team leader spoke to one of the more troublesome boys in our group — he ended up letting go of his 'big man aura' to actually be nicer to other people.

7. If you had to sum up your NCS experience in three words, what would they be?
Fun, exciting, interesting.

Noor, any final thoughts?
