This accessibility statement applies to the first beta release of our mobile web game hosted at www.neohavennoodles.co.uk
Our approach has been based on best practice accessibility considerations for games across 4 key areas; motor, auditory, visual and cognitive. This approach is more in line with games development, rather than traditional web development.
We are working toward making the game as accessible as possible. Although meeting WCAG 2.2 AA standards, which were originally developed for websites is a little more difficult, it is our intention to meet as close to the AA standard as possible. Compliance status
While the first beta release of our web game is not fully accessible to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard at this time, we are dedicated to enhancing the accessibility of the game to ensure that it is as inclusive as possible for a broad range of individuals.
Support we have put in place
Understandable
- Error identification - If an input error is automatically detected, the item that is in error is identified and the error is described to the user in text (where relevant).
- Labels or instructions - Labels or instructions are provided when content requires user input (where relevant).
- Error suggestion - Allows players to know what to do next to rectify the error (where relevant).
- Consistent Navigation - allows players to flow through the experience in a repeatable & easy to understand way.
- Consistent Identification - Components that have the same functionality within a set of Web pages are identified consistently.
- Sensory Characteristics - Instructions provided for understanding and operating content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, color, size, visual location, orientation, or sound.
Perceivable
- Use of colour - colour is not the only means of conveying information.
- Colour contrast (minimum) - adheres to minimum contrast requirements.
- Images of text - there are no key text elements embedded as images.
- Audio control- settings page that will give players control over their audio.
- Low or no background audio - settings page that will give players control over their audio.
Operable
- Three flashes or below threshold - flashes in the experience that fall into this category.
- Target size - Button sizes adhere to minimum target size.
- Label in name - For user interface components with labels that include text or images of text, the name contains the text that is presented visually.
Non-accessible content
This game is partially compliant to WCAG 2.2 AA due to the non-compliances listed below.
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):
(a) non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Examples of accessibility requirements that are not yet met:
1.1.1 Text Alternatives - there are currently no text alternatives for images.
1.4.11 Non-Text Contrast.
2.4.6 Headings and Labels - descriptive headings and labels aren’t currently available through this digital experience.
2.4.7 Focus Visible.
4.1.2 Name, Role, Value - this digital experience isn’t yet compatible with screen reader technology.

This statement was prepared on 3rd December 2024 following a manual accessibility review against the WCAG 2.2 AA checklist.
