On 12 November 2024, the Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, Lisa Nandy, released a statement about the closure of National Citizen Service and NCS Trust.
We are incredibly disappointed by this decision, but remain immensely proud of the impact we have had for young people. Together with hundreds of youth sector partners and thousands of youth sector staff, we’ve delivered over a million experiences to young people, and participants have taken part in over 18 million hours of volunteering.
We want to reassure young people, parents, guardians, carers and partners that all our NCS experiences are running as usual, although we won't have any new ones after 31 March 2025.
If you have signed up for an away from home experience that's taking place before Christmas, don't worry, these are still going ahead.
