If you’re looking for a way to carry on doing good once you’ve been on NCS, joining Changemakers is for you! You’ll be part of a local group designing and delivering social action projects for your community, on subjects that matter to you. This year, Changemakers will focus on the environment, so you could be designing a strategy to tackle the climate crisis, educating your community on how to champion sustainability or creating partnerships for positive change. But don’t worry, if there’s something else you feel passionate about and want to sink your teeth into, you can do that too!
All Changemakers groups will follow the recommended COVID-19 guidelines set by the government. So, you could either be meeting virtually or face to face. You’ll be told all the details about each of your meetings once you’ve signed up.
All the skills you gain from thinking of an idea for a project to then putting it into action - from teamwork to creativity, to leadership to listening - will look brilliant on your CV and may open up a whole world of career possibilities for you.
And now more than ever, team work makes the dream work. As the country starts to get back to a new kind of normal, everyone needs a little extra help. By focusing your project in your community, you’ll help the people around you thrive. You’ll get a better understanding of how your community works and what it needs, and create a more positive and sustainable future for everyone.
